Professional Excellence Program

The Professional Excellence Program is BLG's comprehensive national approach to the continued business and legal education of BLG Professionals.

Implemented by the Managing Director, Professional Excellence and the National Director for Professional Development, our program has an overall goal to ensure that BLG Professionals are the best professionals and are well prepared to understand and tackle any client assignment knowledgably and effectively.

From the moment a law student arrives at any BLG office, through to partnership and beyond, national courses and programs are offered on an ongoing basis. The Firm's core series: BLG 101, BLG 301, BLG 501 and BLG 701 and the National CLE Program provide our Professionals with legal knowledge and skills that can be directly applied in the courtroom or in the boardroom. We tap into the expertise of top instructors and trainers from both inside and outside the Firm to ensure that BLG Professionals learn from leaders in their respective fields. We use a variety of teaching methods to encourage both individual development and group leadership, and to hone management skills and talents.

BLG's strategic framework of professional excellence is multi-faceted, developing a substantive and evolving legal and business knowledge base while building both practical and relationship management skills. We believe this approach is necessary to accelerate the development of a well-rounded lawyer who will understand client business needs and deliver both professional and service excellence.

But our program does not stop there.

At BLG, we know the value of learning from experience and from each other as professionals. To foster our culture for continued learning and to enhance teamwork, the Firm's Professional Excellence Program taps into our national network of peers and experts to include a formal mentoring tradition grounded in our legacy firms.
